InnoJam

InnoJam is a discussion-based tool that can bring together large groups of people to connect them in an asynchronous way to empower the generation, evolution and evaluation of ideas.

Usually, this kind of massive participation events are carried out by companies seeking for solutions and ideas coming from their entire workforce, even more, taking into account the opinion of their customer base too.

To overcome the overload of information such a massive event can produce, InnoJam presents three main features:

   • A recommender system capable of building users’ profiles and mine them to recommend new and interesting ideas as the users take part in the event. By using the recommender system, participants are automatically supplied with discussions explicitly matching the preferences extracted by the system about the users’ contributions.

   • Visualizations and data aggregation, providing valuable insights and summarizing the status and most important contributions. Participants can also follow the activity in a more contextualized discussion built on top of a map mashup, and check on real-time statistics about the event.

   • The community-driven approach allowing participants to really steer the innovation process by contributing feedback about the relevance and appropriateness of ideas. The innovation process becomes more open-minded and neutral.

The two main benefits InnoJam provides are confronted with two common problems among companies and large organizations:

Every idea counts. Important ideas are taken into account independently of who has authored it. In InnoJam all participants have the same importance, thus an open and kind ambient is built for every participant involved to feel and become more valuable both in the innovation process and in the organization.

Increasing the speed of decision-making and action. By setting apart all kind of bureaucracy, important decisions can be taken and actions implemented in short periods of time, achieving consensual positions within large groups of stakeholders
